How and Where to Pre-order Your PS5 Right Now

We now have release dates for both of the premier next-gen console lines dropping this fall. Microsoft revealed the release date for its new Xbox duo last month, with the high-end Series X and watered down Series S hitting shelves on November 10, and now Sony has confirmed a release date for the PlayStation 5 as well. The console is coming to the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea on November 12, with its global release penned in for November 19.

Of course, flocking to stores and waiting in line for ages isn’t the average consumer’s idea of fun, and isn’t likely to be feasible given the current situation. If you’d rather lock in your purchase beforehand, you’ll be pleased to know that pre-orders for the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition are now live at multiple online storefronts. You should hurry, though, as some outlets have run out of stocks already. Here are all the retailers offering PS5 pre-orders right now.

Sony

Sony is letting PlayStation owners “register for the opportunity” to pre-order a PS5 directly through the official website. It isn’t clear when this particular offering will go live, but if you’ve exhausted all other avenues, you may want to register here sooner rather than later as reservations are being locked in on a first-come-first-serve basis.

You will be notified via email as soon as the pre-orders go live.

Best Buy

Best Buy may be showing the PS5 in stock for some visitors, if social media chatter is to be believed, and a “coming soon” message for others. Either way, you may want to keep an eye on the following links as well.

Amazon

Amazon has a product page in place for the PS5, with the DualSense Controller, DuelSense Charging Station, Pulse 3D Wireless Headset, Media Remote, and HD Camera accessories available for pre-order. The page offers no indication as to when the console itself will be available to pre-order, though.

GameStop, Target, and Walmart

It seems GameStop, Target, and Walmart have all run out of pre-order stock already, though you may want to check back with them GameStop later. Target’s PS5 listing advises visitors to check back on release day (November 12) while Walmart has confirmed that customers will be able to pre-order in stores on September 22, which suggests that they aren’t likely to restock their online storefront anytime soon.
