In line with its established cadence, Apple took to the stage at its very own Steve Jobs Theater yesterday to announce its new iPhone lineup, confirming a vast majority of the rumors and alleged leaks that had been treated to leading up to the event. Three new handsets were revealed – the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR – featuring very few improvements over last year’s iPhone X, though this was expected given Apple’s established tick-tock release cadence and the aforementioned rumors.
There is one little thing that we can always look forward too, however, regardless of which iPhone we use, and that is Apple own set of gorgeous default wallpapers. In fact, even if you aren’t an iPhone user, you may be able to appreciate the company’s taste in this regard. While these new wallpapers are part and parcel of the new iPhones, they usually find their way onto the Web at some point, usually before the official release. This time is no different.
Below, we have for you a link to the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR wallpapers that a resourceful Twitter user was able to scrape together from pre-release press material and promos. The collection should work best with the iPhone X, though any of these should, with a little resizing, look great on devices with a display resolution equal to or lower than 1125 x 2436 pixels.
The wallpapers have been divided into two sets, one from iPhone XS and XS Max press shots, and the other from those for the iPhone XR. I personally find the latter easier on the eyes, though the XS wallpapers should work better with OLED screens and their deeper blacks. All of the wallpapers play quite well with the high-to-low exposure screen-wake effect found in iOS 11 and above.
