How to Do a Full-Map Advanced UAV Scan in Call of Duty: Warzone

Call of Duty: Warzone has seen an unprecedented influx of players over the week and a half that it has been out, amassing over 6 million in the first 24 hours and 15 million in the first four days.

Activision’s nascent battle royale title is a healthy mix of existing and new ideas, with much of its sizable player-base likely still familiarizing itself with the latter. Last week, YouTube Gaming streamer Jack “CouRage” Dunlop shared a clip on Twitter showing how to reveal the location of every other player on the map for a limited time, à la the Advanced UAV Killstreak from Modern Warfare. Here’s how it works.

Call of Duty Warzone full-map Advanced UAV enemy scan

The UAV Killstreak available from Buy Stations strewn all across battle-torn Verdansk only reveals enemies within a limited area around the player, with enemy positions updated intermittently. Combine three of these with the help of your squad, and you get a supercharged version that reveals the position of every other enemy on the map as well as the direction each enemy is facing, updated continuously.

To activate Advanced UAV, all three members in a squad must purchase a UAV Killstreak, and then use them at the same time. It won’t come cheap, though. UAV Killstreaks cost $4000 a pop, which means your squad will have to splash a whopping $12000 for the lot.

It may not be the most lucrative investment early until much later in the match, when the last few squads begin to converge, and there is little chance of you needing cash to redeploy downed teammates.

There’s also the fact that you can only carry one Killstreak at a time, which means you’ll have to forgo carrying a Cluster Strike or Precision Airstrike if you’re going to purchase and save a UAV for the end-game. When that end-game does come rolling around and your squad finds itself with three UAVs at the ready, a full-map scan may very well be the best possible weapon to have in your arsenal.

Call of Duty: Warzone is free to download on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Battle.net.
