New Doom Eternal Story Trailer Brings Forces Of Heaven Into The Mix

Bethesda released an all-new trailer for Doom Eternal following its press conference at E3 today. The trailer focuses on the story of the sequel to 2016’s Doom reboot, revealing a little more about the threats our trigger-happy Doom Slayer is going to be facing this time around.

The Doom franchise is known more for high-adrenaline gunplay than riveting storylines, but Bethesda did promise a deeper story for this iteration at its first showing last year.

Why are you here?

What you interfere with now is bigger than you can imagine. If you continue, you will bring down the Heaven’s wrath. It is written. It is their time to give penance.

You are but one man.

They are no longer your people to save.

Not much to go on, but it’s clear that our hero has made a new enemy. The Doom Slayer was already feared by the demons of hell. Now it seems he’ll be facing off against the forces of heaven, too.

The unknown voice addressing the Doom Slayer suggests that the events of the game are part of a prophecy not to be meddled with. Heaven doesn’t seem to want the suffering of mankind, likely at the hands of hell-spawn, to end. Of course, our hero, being the nice guy that he is, can’t let that slide, which is why the voice thought it necessary to warn him away.

We’ll find out more when the game hits the shelves on 11/22/2019. You can watch the trailer below.
