How To Apply For The Elder Scrolls: Blades Beta
Bethesda had several exciting announcements to make at the recently concluded E3 conference, but with PC and console titles the likes of Fallout 76, The Elder Scrolls VI, and Starfield hogging all the limelight, it is easy to forget that the company has a mobile game in the pipeline as well. After the success of Fallout Shelter, Bethesda has finally decided to bring its premiere franchise to iOS and Android as well, announcing The Elder Scrolls: Blades for both mobile platforms.
The game is currently gearing up for a beta testing phase, wherein fans will be able to try it out before its official release on September 1. While Bethesda hasn’t provided a release date for the beta, those interested can sign up for a copy and be notified as soon as it is available. Here’s how to do just that.
1. Head on over to playblades.com or bethesda.net/play/blades.
2. You will be prompted to sign in with your Bethesda.net account. If you don’t already have one, you can sign up for a new one here.
3. After you sign in, you will be asked to fill out a small form. Fill it up, hit Sign Up, and you’re done.
Now all you have to do is wait – the developers will notify you via email whenever they are ready for you to test the beta.
The game does look promising, and it being free-to-play is the icing on the cake. Like the series of The Elder Scrolls games developed for PC, Blades is an action RPG set in an alternate Medieval reality filled with magic and mystical creatures. Players will be tasked to fight their way through hand-crafted areas and procedurally generated dungeons using melee weapons as well as a range of ranged abilities and magic.
Blades plays from a first-person perspective, features a character builder, town building to unlock more singleplayer missions, a survival mode that throws players into an endless dungeon, and a PvP arena that will see players from several platforms test their skills against each other. That’s quite a lot of content for a free mobile game, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
