Fallout 4: How & Where To Get The Alien Blaster Pistol
One of the countless joys of playing an open-world role-playing game the likes of Fallout 4 is collecting new gear, and better still is the sense of accomplishment after one stumbles upon a rare piece of armor or weaponry. It doesn’t matter if you’re going to use it sparingly or stow it away indefinitely without so much as looking at it again; you know it’s there.
If you’re reading this, you probably know by now that the latest iteration of Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic RPG, like its predecessors, is riddled with secrets and surprises. One of those surprises, carried forward from Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, involves aliens and, you guessed it, alien weaponry. Called Zetans, these green hostiles from outer space are referenced on a couple of occasions in Fallout 4, but as nothing more than a rumor or urban legend.
However, at a certain point in the game, under unknown conditions, a UFO carrying one of these extraterrestrials crash-lands East of Oberland Station, and takes refuge in a nearby cave with an Alien Blaster Pistol at his side, ammo for which, though scarce, can be found here and there across the wasteland. In what follows, we’re going to tell you exactly how to get your hands on said pistol, provided you’ve come across the UFO event in your playthrough.
We don’t yet know how the event is triggered. Some players are hypothesizing that a significant amount of points in the Luck attribute sets it off while your performing a quest in the relative vicinity. Once it does happen, though, you’ll see a large ball of fire streak down through the sky, meeting the ground a second later in an explosion you’ll be able to spot from quite a distance away. The crash site can still be hard to find, so we’ll show you exactly where to look and what to look for with the screenshots below.
As mentioned earlier, the site is East of Oberland Station, which itself is North of Vault 81 and South of Beantown Brewery. Once you find the abandoned UFO, search around it for a green blood splatter.
Take a few steps Northward and you’ll find another similar splatter, and then another. Follow these until you come upon cave.
Our little green friend is hiding in this cave and will start shooting as soon as it spots you, but should be fairly easy to take down. Once that is done, you can scavenge E.T.’s corpse for the Alien Blaster Pistol and a fair amount of AB rounds.
Fun fact: if you return to the crash site after this, you’ll find that the blood splatter beside the UFO has disappeared.
