It’s finally here! After weeks of speculation regarding the imminent availability of untethered jailbreak for iOS 9, it’s the Chinese Pangu team that has, out of the blue, released a tool to free the latest iteration of Apple’s mobile OS from its shackles.

Update: The tool has been updated with support for iOS 9.1 on 64-bit devices, including the iPad Pro.

Called Pangu 9, the jailbreak tool is meant for iOS 9.0, 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 on any iOS 9-compatible iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, for iOS 9.1 just on 64-bit devices, and available for both Windows and Mac. The download link to the current version of the tool is provided at the end.

Read through the compatibility list below to find your device and iOS version. Remember, you will also need to have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer and your iOS 9 device set to Trust the computer through which you plan to carry out the jailbreak process. Also, you might need to perform a fresh restore as the tool is known to have issues jailbreaking devices that have been updated OTA (Over The Air).
